If your story has the power to stay with a reader long after the final page, we would love to hear from you. Every selected story is professionally edited and designed for the collection, and we welcome both emerging and established writers. Submissions are accepted in English and Arabic. All work must be original, unpublished, and entirely human-written, no AI-generated or AI-assisted manuscripts.
Submissions open with the pitch stage, so you can begin without a finished manuscript. Send a title, genre, estimated word count, and a short synopsis, and we'll review your concept before you commit to the full draft.
The window closes at the end of September. Submissions received after the deadline may not be considered, so we encourage you to pitch early rather than wait until the final days of the submission period.
Four things. No manuscript required yet, we review concepts first.
A working title is fine
Should be from one of the 6 categories
Estimated (3,000 - 10,000 words)
200 - 500 words
Invented worlds with their own logic, magic, and consequence.
Familiar tales, told slant, with something new at their heart.
Stories rooted in the traditions and tellings of real communities.
Old gods, old questions, given fresh breath.
The everyday world, with one quiet impossibility.
Journeys that earn their marvels and their endings.
Send a story title, genre, estimated word count, and a synopsis of 200 to 500 words. Up to two pitches per writer. Outcomes: Approved, Declined, or Returned with recommendations.
Approved pitches are invited to deliver the completed story, 3,000 to 10,000 words. Many strong stories improve with a small amount of revision, so feedback may accompany our decision. Outcomes: Accepted · Revise & resubmit · Declined
Accepted stories receive one round of editorial notes, clarifying the ending, improving pacing, strengthening motivation, trimming exposition, always in service of your voice, never in place of it.
Once your final manuscript is approved, a publishing agreement is issued. On signing, your story is scheduled for publication in the anthology and your sponsorship is paid.
Submit only work you wrote and have the legal right to submit. Previously published stories are not eligible.
In keeping with our house ethos, AI-generated or AI-authored work is not accepted in any form.
You may submit up to two story pitches, but only one story per writer can be selected for the anthology.
Final stories must run 3,000 to10,000 words. Submissions outside this range may not be considered.
We accept submissions in English and Arabic.
The window closes 30 September 2026. Late submissions may not be considered. We encourage you to submit early rather than wait for the final days.
This program is built to back writers directly. Every selected writer is sponsored by the house: a single agreed amount, stated in your contract before you sign, and paid when your final manuscript is accepted, independent of how the book sells.
By accepting sponsorship and signing the agreement, contributors transfer the rights outlined in the contract to the publishing house, including publication rights and any additional rights specified in the agreement.
We recommend reading the agreement carefully and asking us anything before you sign.
No, that's the point of the pitch stage. Submit a title, genre, estimated word count, and a 200–500 word synopsis. Only if your pitch is approved will you be invited to write and submit the full story.
The sponsorship amount will be confirmed with successful contributors before publication. It is a single agreed amount, stated in your contract before you sign, and paid on acceptance of your final manuscript, rather than royalties based on sales.
By signing the publishing agreement, you transfer the rights outlined in the contract to Seven Sands Publishing, including publication rights and any additional rights specified in the agreement. The full terms will be in your contract. Please read it carefully before signing
No. Stories must be submitted to Seven Sands only, not to other publishers at the same time, and must not have been published elsewhere before. Once your story is accepted and rights are transferred under the publishing agreement, it belongs to Seven Sands Publishing as set out in your contract.
No. All submissions must be the product of human creativity. AI-generated or AI-authored work is not accepted, this is a core commitment of the house, not a technicality.
Submissions are open from 30 June to 30 September 2026.
